Chase Elliott is the favorite to win this week’s NASCAR Cup Series race, so here we check out his chances at Road America in our free NASCAR Kwik Trip 250 betting picks.
Last weekend in Nashville we finally saw something resembling what was once regarded as a normal NASCAR race. A win for points leader Chase Elliott, along with a fourth-place finish for defending Cup Series champion, Kyle Larson, and a return to form for Hendrick Motorsports.

So this weekend at Road America, can the Hendrick team continue that form with Chase Elliott going back-to-back, or maybe even Kyle Larson getting his second win of the season? Or will things go back to the previous madness, where we were getting different random winners every weekend?
The betting supports the former, but the betting has pretty much favored Larson and Elliott in all 17 races this season. And so far they’ve won just three between them!
So where do we go this weekend? Do we follow the NASCAR betting odds? Or do we go random, hoping for another long priced winner?
Road America Kwik Trip 250 Betting
With the win under his belt last weekend, the favorite to win this week is Chase Elliott. His favoritism is also backed up by the fact he won here 12 months ago. The best NASCAR betting sites, including BetOnline, have Elliott at just +525 to go back-to-back.
Just behind Elliott is Kyle Larson at +700. Larson is closely followed by Ross Chastain at +800, with Kyle Busch at +1000.
All the four betting favorites finished in the top 5 last week. Only Ryan Blaney of Team Penske – who finished 3rd at Nashville – failed to make the top five betting favorites for this Sunday’s race. Blaney is at +1200. That’s also behind Martin Truex Jr at +1100 and the same odds as Denny Hamlin.
Kwik Trip 250: All You Need To Know
This will only be the third ever Cup Series race at the Road America circuit. The first one was held back in 1956, won by Tim Flock. The second was last year, and as alluded to, was won by Chase Elliott.
The track is another road circuit, the second in the last three races, and measures just over 4 miles long. The circuit was added to the roster ahead of the 2021 season, as NASCAR looked to increase the number of road circuits on the calendar.

The race gets underway with the green flag at 3 pm ET, and with it being July 4th the following day, a lively celebratory crowd is expected. The race promises to be a cracker, both on and off the roadway!
2022 NASCAR Cup Series Champion Betting
Before we get onto our NASCAR betting picks for this weekend, let’s take a quick look at the betting to win this year’s driver championship after Chase Elliott’s win last Sunday.
The man himself, Chase Elliott is still a joint favorite with BetOnline. He shares that honor with Hendrick’s teammate, Kyle Larson. Both men sit on +600.
Beneath them, the race is hotting up. Third in the betting is now Kyle Busch at +675. The veteran Joe Gibbs Racing driver finished 2nd last Sunday and is 4th in the Cup Series points standing.
Also closing in on the leaders is Ross Chastain of Trackhouse Racing at +700. He is closely followed by Denny Hamlin at +800, and Joey Logano at +900.
It is a close and open season this year.
Kwick Trip 250 Betting Picks
Unfortunately, such a close and competitive season makes calling picks more difficult. As is the case most weeks now, this means hedging our bets a bit more. And with my first pick being the short-ish priced favorite, there isn’t much room for hedging. So, I’m just going with two drivers this weekend.
Chase Elliott +525 To Win
Seven of Chase Elliott’s 15 career wins have come on road circuits.
Elliott also won here last year, so with a pedigree on road circuits, and his return to form with a win last weekend, it is impossible to ignore Elliott.
For me, Chase Elliott looks like the best driver on the circuit this year and is my first pick to win the Kwik Trip 250.

Christopher Bell +1600 To Win
I know I backed Bell last week, but as I pointed out then, he had two top 10 finishes in his previous three races. Fast forward a week, and Bell now has three top 10 finishes in his last four races. He managed a respectable 8th at Nashville last weekend.
Bell was 2nd here last season and his only Cup Series career win to date came on a road circuit. So in this season of crazy results, why not? So Christopher Bell is my second Kwik Trip 250 betting pick.
