NCR Corp. (NYSE:NCR), which is in the process of exploring strategic alternatives, may wind up being acquired by private equity firm Veritas Capital, according to Deal Reporter.
The news outlet, citing five sources familiar with the matter, said the PE firm was among the parties interested in acquiring NCR. Other parties that are also considering an acquisition of the $4B NCR Corp. (NCR) include Apollo Global Management.
Final bids for NCR Corp. (NCR) are expected to be sent it next month, the news outlet added.
NCR Corp. (NCR) shares fell slightly more than 1.5% to $30.77 in mid-day trading on Wednesday.
Atlanta, Georgia-based NCR (NCR) did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Seeking Alpha.
NCR (NCR) has been for sale multiple times over the years, dating back to 2015.
NCR, a technology provider for retail stores, restaurants and banks, initiated a strategic review in February and now the board has narrowed down the potential paths the company may take, Michael Nelson, treasurer and investor relations at NCR, said at an RBC investor conference on Tuesday.
Nelson also added that the NCR (NCR) board is looking at selling the entire company or splitting it into multiple companies.
